Theo Walcott is Set to Discuss His Future with Arsenal

Theo Walcott is set to discuss his future at Arsenal as rumours continue to circulate around him potentially leaving the club.

With one year left on his contract at the Emirates, Sky Sports reports that Walcott could be looking to potentially move away from the club, with Liverpool reportedly interested in signing the 26-year-old.

According to reports, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers could be looking to initiate a swap with Arsenal, with Walcott being replaced by Raheem Sterling in the Arsenal squad. However, the pair moving between the two clubs wouldn’t exactly be a huge step up for either of their careers, given that both clubs frequently sit behind the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City for title contention.

Arsenal could be looking to swap Walcott with Raheem Sterling, Walcott’s England teammate.

A transfer could also prove to be detrimental to both of the involved clubs, with Walcott and Sterling being stand-out players for Arsenal and Liverpool, thus meaning future confrontations between the two Premier League sides would prove to be particularly nerve-wracking, with neither Rodgers nor Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wanting to show that they made the worst decision by opting to swap the players.

However, with Walcott having made just three Premier League appearances in 13 appearances across all competitions after being sidelined for much of the season with an injury, the England international is undoubtedly looking to get much more play time, something that he could be granted if he moved to Liverpool.

If the players are to be swapped it would be a controversial decision for both clubs, and with Walcott likely set to demand that he receive more time on the pitch, if Arsenal chooses to deny him that opportunity then we could be seeing Walcott at Anfield sooner rather than later.
