Microsoft’s Phil Spencer took to the stage during Microsoft’s E3 2015 press conference in order to announce that the Xbox One would soon sport backwards compatibility, with the new feature launching this Holiday season.
Backwards compatibility will see both retail and digital Xbox 360 games being available to be played on the Xbox One, with these games now boasting some of the perks that the Xbox One offers, including the ability to take screenshots in-game.
The announcement was met with rapturous applause from the press conferences attendees, with an onstage demo of the original Mass Effect highlighting how the backwards compatibility would work.
Prior to announcing the console’s backwards compatibility stated that they have the “best line-up of games” in the history of the Xbox console series.
