Awful Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 Trailer Just Makes Us Want a New Skate Game

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 looks like it’s going to disappoint fans of the franchise, with its new trailer being particularly underwhelming and leading many to speculate that perhaps this won’t be the return to form the series so desperately needs.

They say you should never judge a book by its cover, and while that may well be true, the clear lack of effort put into the visuals of the game suggest that the game could be a half-baked cash-grab. It’s not exactly like the past few entries in the Tony Hawk series have been stellar, so fans were already sceptical, and this trailer will do nothing to quell their suspicions that THPS5 won’t live up to the hype.

Of course, we could all be wrong, but at this point I’d wager a considerable amount of money on this being a below-average release. It’s also proved to be doubly disappointing in that it’s also reminded me that I haven’t played a Skate game in a while. Come on, EA – make Skate 4 already!

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 will be released on September 29th, 2015 for the PS4 and Xbox One, and later in the year on the PS3 and Xbox 360. I hope the game defies my expectations.
