Kesha Dropped Her Sexual Assault Lawsuit Against Dr. Luke In California

Kesha, who is now some sort of psychic Stevie Nicks, has dropped her California lawsuit against Dr. Luke she filed in 2014. If you’re unfamiliar, you can read all about it here.  Important to note: Dr. Luke isn’t an actual doctor. He’s some dork named Lukasz Gottwald. If you already know all this, then I bet you don’t know this, huh?

Hoping to get her career back on track, Kesha has provided 28 new songs to her record label and has scaled back her legal actions against her label head, the pop super-producer Lukasz “Dr. Luke” GottwaldFrom the singer-songwriter’s future with Sony to what it means for other recording artists, we look for answers Though the pop star will continue to pursue appeals in New York, where a judge dismissed her sexual abuse claims against Gottwald in April, she has dropped a similar set of claims in California, where her case has been on hold since June of last year. “Kesha has dismissed her California action without prejudice while she pursues her appeal and other legal claims in the New York courts,” the pop star’s counsel, Daniel Petrocelli, said in an official statement. “Kesha is focused on getting back to work and has delivered 28 new songs to the record label. We have conveyed to Sony and the label Kesha’s strong desire to release her next album and single as soon as possible.”

I guess I could pretend, but I honestly don’t know what any of that means much less the legal reasons behind it, so I don’t have much to add here except to remind everyone that it’s Taco Tuesday. Please celebrate responsibly.

Kesha and her boyfriend Brad Ashenfelter. That name sounds made up.
