Lelo Imagines Condoms Of The Future That Don’t Rip

There seems to be some common ground in design these days: honeycombs. From honeycomb-inspired lamps to honeycomb-shaped shelters and now the advent of honeycomb-ribbed condoms; honeycomb shapes present a wellspring of solutions to very real design application problems.

Everything from erecting (no pun intended) a more sturdy structure to following suit with a design wave that is equal parts function and aesthetic, honeycombs have provided answers. As for condoms, Swedish brand Lelo hasn’t lost the plot either. They’ve taken on board an archive of customer complaints that have dogged all manner of condom brands: condoms tear, condoms slip off, or condoms simply don’t adhere to the contour and texture of a man’s penis.

Lelo’s Hex condom addresses all the challenges of normal condoms.

Enter Lelo with their honeycomb-ribbed condom Hex. Hex with its web of honeycombs that form the unique grid of latex skin on the condom promises to resist the most anxiety-inducing residual problems: tears. The idea behind the design is that unlike the severely flimsy latex film of regular condoms that are expected to do everything from protect against STDs to giving the sensation of having sex au naturel, Hex purports to be a robust version of condom, even for the most virile sort of user. No breakage here.

But that’s not all. According to the brand, this condom stays on. If one issue irks a man most it’s a condom that slips off during lovemaking. Here the honeycombs manage to “grip,” as it were, the contours of the penis and provide a lasting sense of comfort and confidence.
