While that doughnut optical illusion may have freaked you out, the optical illusion below will drive you mad. Let us tell you all about it.
A Twitter user named Martin Taylor decided to share an optical illusion from Atlanta-based magician Victoria Skye. Let’s first take a look at the tweet below shared by Taylor.
Terrific optical illusion by Victoria Skye. @RichardWiseman @chriscfrench pic.twitter.com/IeSFupAcfU

Here’s a closer look:
Illustration: Twitter
The optical illusion, while they show horizontal bars that look like they bend at an angle, the tweet explains that they do not bend. In fact, they are all straight and parallel rows. Say what? One dude tried to combat this:
They ARE at an angle rather than strictly horizontal – you can hold a straightedge under to see. The bend/wobble is the illusion.

But he was shutdown.
Nope – they’re absolutely horizontal. I checked in Illustrator.

And that’s when people began chiming in.
I checked; they are perfectly horizontal. Here’s the same image with some boxes to help pic.twitter.com/tr1gqk3Har

I’ve never seen an illusion as impressive as this one. It genuinely violates my perception. Bravo to her!

Yes, I tilted my phone and appeared straight. Proves senses can fool your brain!

If one allows their eyes to relax, à la magic eye (or, like me, you’re tired and not focusing!), the black bars stand-out and are straight.

Terrific or terrifying? This thing makes my brain melt.

Even Skye herself replied.
They are completely straight & horizontal. If you look at it while it’s flat and from one end at eye level, you can see they are parallel.

In conclusion, I am still lost.
