Besides giving Tesla a run for their money and announcing an electric supercar of their own, Ferrari is still going strong on its signature trail – releasing amazing, potent red bullets of automobiles. The famed Italian company introduced us to their new Ferrari 488 Pista which will have the most powerful V8 engine in the history of the enterprise from Maranello.
Ferrari announced ahead of the upcoming Geneva Motor Show that the 488 Pista will be a big step up in terms of technological carry-over from racing and sporty dynamics both. The mission of the team behind the car was to offer impeccable track-like performance on and off the road, even with a non-professional driver behind the seat. The acceleration of Ferrari 488 Pista is amazing due to the all weight-saving solutions and the technological improvements under the hood, so the 0-60 time is 2.85 seconds.
The name “Pista” means “track” in Italian, although it has very different meaning across the world, making the release somewhat controversial. In some countries, it would be translated as “runway”, which is great, but in others “Pista” means “pistachios”, “crushed”, or even “piss”.
