Fashion: What to Wear at Spring, Summer Weddings

Now, whether this is or is not on the top of your list of things to do this spring/summer, it’s highly likely that you will be invited to attend at least one wedding this season. The best or worst case scenario, depending on how you look at it, could be impending nuptials potentially dominating every weekend for the next few months. With that said, you have been warned and you might as well look your best.

So, how do you accomplish that?

As you are already aware, for men, there is a bit of a “uniform” as a wedding guest. So, you will probably need to dust off your suit, tie, button down shirt and nice shoes for the occasions but this year. Instead of simply dusting off the old, try something new.

First, its great to wear a traditional look, but add some style and a real gentleman’s touch to your outfit by pairing a pocket square for a pop of color to your “go-to” suit. Try cuff links. They don’t need to be expensive to keep you looking like a million bucks. Remember – it’s all in the details.

If, judging from the wedding invitation, you get a clue that the ceremony is a little less formal and you can get away with a more casual look, don’t just go with the old faithful black pants and white shirt. You will undoubtedly be mistaken for one of the waiters instead of a guest.

Go the extra mile and try mixing and matching patterns. A great way to do that would be mixing a gingham print shirt with a stripe tie or substituting a jacket for the tie and rocking a stylish accessory instead.

When it comes to evening weddings, be sure you dressed appropriately. Under-dressing is frowned upon so be sure to put on your best evening wear. Here’s when you break out the full tuxedo or at the very least a tuxedo jacket to really make an impact.

Whatever you decide to step out in, make sure it reflects you and your personality. Most of all, make sure you can move in it. You might as well enjoy dancing with your date and an open bar, right?
