Apple Reveals that iPad Sales are Continuing to Drop

Sales of the iPad are down by 9%, a second consecutive slump in tablet sales for Apple in two quarters

The iPad made 13.3 million sales in the second quarter of 2014, falling almost 10% below the figures it had reached in Q1. The revelation was made during a call Apple CEO Tim Cook made with investors, in which he addressed the decreased sales of the line of tablets, saying that businesses could help the iPad gain momentum once again.

Aside from that blip, Apple’s sales are otherwise looking positive. iPhone sales are up 13% compared to Q3 2013 with 32.5 million being sold, while 4.4 million Macs have been sold, an increase of 18%.

Considering Apple has put a huge amount of support behind the iPad and its various incarnations, though, the hardware manufacturer will not be pleased that its sales are continuing to slump, and as it shifts its focus to wearable tech such as the upcoming iWatch, it would be wise to not lose focus on continuing to champion the benefits of using a tablet to a wider audience.
