The Samsung SE370 Monitor Can Charge Your Smartphone Wirelessly

Samsung is looking to reduce the amount of wires you have cluttering up your desk, with its new Samsung SE370 monitor allowing users to charge their smartphones wirelessly.

The tech giant is billing the SE370 as the very first monitor to boast this feature, though its wireless charging station is only compatible with devices that house Qi wireless charging functionality. You can see the list of Qi compatible phones here.

The monitor itself features reasonable specs outside of its wireless charging feature, with it available in both 23.6-inch and 27-inch size models, each with a full HD resolution of 1920×1080. For those who want to use the monitor for gaming, the SE370 is supported by AMD’s FreeSync technology allowing it to sync with a user’s AMD graphics card in order to minimize input latency, with it also decreasing the amount of lag and stutter during gameplay sessions.

It also boasts a 4ms response time that negates motion blur, along with featuring a game mode that detects the most efficient video setting for a particular scene, changing video settings on the fly.

Speaking of the monitor’s wireless charging feature, Samsung’s senior VP of Visual Display Business Seok-gi Kim said: “Technology should support, not interfere with, active lifestyles. Our customers increasingly rely on mobile devices to obtain information and interact with others; so by doing away with the clutter on their desks, we are helping them to use their mobile devices in a smarter way.”

Samsung has yet to give a launch window for the upcoming monitor, though we should receive more details regarding its release date and price in the near future.
