The Twenty Best Bars in America

In the past few years, the craft cocktail market has been in a boom. Every major city in America has at least a handful of great cocktail bars with talented bartenders crafting creative and unique mixed drinks.

Best Bars in America

Dead Rabbit (New York)

One of the most awarded cocktail bars in America, the Dead Rabbit was named the World’s Best Bar at this year’s Tale of the Cocktail. While there, order a “Raggle Taggle Gypsy” with Bacardi Heritage Puerto Rican Rum, Pisco, Sumac, Lemon, Nectarine and Bokers Bitters.

ABV (San Francisco)

The name is the abbreviation of “Alcohol By Volume” and this booze-filled paradise is know for its long spirits list and delicious cocktails including “The Jackel” with rye, lemon, cardamom, and pineapple.

Anvil Bar & Refuge (Houston)

Opened in 2009, Anvil is a Mecca for spirits lovers in the Lone Star State. Its drink menu includes an expansive list of blended and single malt scotches and whiskies from the US and around the world.

A speakeasy style bar located in a non descript building on Eldridge Street in New York, Attaboy is know for melding classic and contemporary to create unique, delicious cocktails.

The Hawthorne (Boston)

The Hawthorne Bar located on Commonwealth Avenue in Boston is known as much for its high quality cocktails as it is for its friendly and lively staff and family atmosphere.

Clover Club (Brooklyn)

The Clover Club is not concerned with appearance. The highly-skilled staff crafts cocktails without over the top fanfare. Live music is common at this laid back Brooklyn hangout.

Eastern Standard Kitchen & Drinks (Boston)

Boston’s Eastern Standard is both a high-end eatery and a classic cocktail bar. Guests can pair meals like smoked pork porterhouse with cocktails like “Bourbon & Spice” featuring Larceny, cinnamon, cardamom, lemon and ginger beer.

Flatiron Lounge (New York)

Jump into a time machine to a day and age when jazz was king and classic cocktails weren’t yet classic when you visit New York’s Flatiron lounge.

Acorn (Denver)

Denver is more known for its beer industry than its bars, but the Mile High City is home to some of the best bars in America. At Acorn, you can pair crispy pork belly with a “True North” featuring Monkey Shoulder rum, punt e mes, lavender, grapefruit and lime.

Proof on Main (Louisville)
