Flight Of The Conchord’s Rhys Darby Is Joining The X-Files

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are set to be joined by a New Zealander for the reboot of “The X-Files” with Rhys Darby confirming that he’ll have a part in it.

Darby, whose roles include “Flight Of The Conchords and Jim Carrey’s Yes Man, took to Twitter to flaunt the news writing, “the truth is out there…”

According to The Wrap, Darby will play a man suspected by Duchovny’s character Fox Mulder to be responsible for a number of animal attacks. The Kiwi actor is currently in Vancouver filming if his Instagram is anything to go by.

So far details are pretty scarce but Community’s Joel McHale has confirmed that he will guest star as a conservative television news anchor. With Darby and McHale now on board, it would be a fair guess to say that the series might have a slight comedic element.

“The X-Files” will return to Fox in the US on 24th January, 2016 and will run for six episodes. No new episodes of the show have been aired since 2002.
