The internet was abuzz this AM when Frank Ocean’s website posted an Apple Music-hosted live stream. The mysterious video feed of what appears to be a nondescript warehouse workspace was thought to have something to do with the release of Ocean’s highly anticipated Boy’s Don’t Cry album. Fans have been waiting for the R&B crooner’s follow-up to his star-making channel Orange for almost two years, having to settle for his frank remarks on the Orlando shooting, a cameo on Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo and a recent Calvin Klein campaign (which you can peep below). And, it appears that his sea of fans will have to wait longer as reports are coming out that the stream is a looped video of an art project by Francis Soriano, who directed Ocean’s video for “Lost.” Hmm, sounds fishy. Personally, we get the feeling that something BIG is coming, dare I say something on Beyonce’s Lemonade–level so you might want to keep refreshing that browser (go here).
Update: Frank Ocean’s “Boy’s Don’t Cry” album will come out Aug. 5 on Apple Music and remain exclusive to Apple for two weeks before becoming more widely available.
