TIFF Announces Last Batch Of Films

TIFF has announced one more round of films that will be shown at this year’s installment of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). They include new additions to the Galas and Special Presentations programmes, the Masters programme, the City to City lineup this year’s city is Lagos, Nigeria), daring and experimental works in the Wavelengths programme, and this year’s Contemporary World Cinema films.

Two Galas and 14 Special Presentations were added to the Galas and Special Presentations lineups yesterday. From thought-provoking stories to passionate tales, and filled with international talent and global stars, these films will thrill, inspire, and resonate with audiences, organizers promise.

Toronto audiences will be among the first to see new films by directors Gerard Barrett, Emmanuelle Bercot, Terry George, Walter Hill, Sang-il Lee, and David Leveaux, amongst others. TIFF shines its spotlight on eight fearless features from the city of Lagos, Nigeria, for the eighth edition of the City to City programme. The lineup showcases gutsy new works by contemporary directors living and working in one of the world’s biggest film industries. And City to City showcases filmmakers living and working in a selected city, regardless of where their films are set. Cities featured in past programmes include London, Seoul, Athens, Mumbai, Buenos Aires, Istanbul and Tel Aviv.

TIFF begins on September 8th.
