The light side of the Force took a big hit during the second season finale of Star Wars Rebels. Ahsoka Tano is missing in action after her battle with Darth Vader, Kanan was blinded by Maul, and Ezra was a little too fascinated by the Sith Holocron. When Star Wars Rebels returns for its third season later this month, there will be a bit of a time jump and Ezra will be noticeably older. And he may be closer to the Dark Side of the Force than ever before!
IGN has premiered a new preview scene from “Steps Into Shadows,” the one-hour season premiere of Star Wars Rebels which finds Ezra and his allies pinned down by an attacking Imperial force. However, Ezra turns the tables in a particularly impressive display of power…which is almost as impressive as Ezra’s apparent indifference to the fact that he’s killing several stormtroopers with his actions. Ezra may have the best of intentions, but even in Star Wars, the road to hell is paved with those.

“Steps Into Shadows,” will introduce Grand Admiral Thrawn as the new Big Bad for the season, as well as former Doctor Who star Tom Baker’s character, the Bendu; an enigmatic being who claims to have the balance of both sides of the Force!
Star Wars Rebels season 3 will premiere on Saturday, September 24 on Disney XD.
