Just watching this video practically made me break out into a sweat. Driver Ron Capps was competing in the NHRA Winternationals 2014 when his car suffered an engine malfunction. But “engine malfunction” doesn’t really do this justice. The car bursts into a gigantic fireball before blowing the entire rear section of the car completely off.
This incredible video shows the malfunction in real time, slow motion and from the driver’s seat. After watching all of those angles, it’s almost impossible to believe that Capps walked away from the explosion completely uninjured. Guess it was his lucky day.
