Former Jackass star Bam Margera was at his peak fame throughout the 2000s as the wildly successful MTV series catapulted him to his own show Viva La Bam. Just 23 years old by the time he became a household name, the pro skater turned TV and film star from Pennsylvania was flying high. But unfortunate circumstances brought his forward trajectory to a screeching halt on June 20, 2011.
With the death of his fellow Jackass star and best friend Ryan Dunn in a drunk driving accident, Bam’s world fell apart. These days, he walks around as a shell of his former self, his well-documented alcohol and drug abuse taking a major toll on his day-to-day life. But fortunately, there still appears to be hope for the ailing reality star.
VH1 recently began airing a new series titled Family Therapy with Dr. Jenn, and among the celebrities in need of getting their lives together is Bam himself. The clip in the link shows a brief overview of just how low Margera has sunk and how it’s affected those around him, but for the real meat of the problem, the clips below paint a much better (yet very hard to watch) picture:
Hopefully, his latest TV appearance gives him the help he clearly needs to get back on track. Godspeed, Bam.
