The team behind El Rey’s From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series really do love their monsters, but they may have out done themselves with their latest creation!
In last night’s episode of From Dusk Till Dawn, Brasa and Amaru unleashed the Xipotle, a creature that can become one with the water supply and turn its victims into flesh eating cannibals who will happily devour each other. But when the Xipotle takes a physical form, it’s even more imposing!
El Rey has passed along an exclusive video in which showrunner Carlos Coto reveals how the films of Steven Spielberg inspired the story of the episode, and he went on to talk about the Xipotle itself and how it was created for the show. You may have assumed that it was a CGI creation, but this behind-the-scenes video clearly shows that the Xipotle was actually a very elaborate puppet.

The next episode of From Dusk Till Dawn will premiere on Tuesday, October 4.
