Why The Hell Did This Dude On ‘Jeopardy!’ Flip Off Alex Trebek (And America)?

If you’re going to go viral, it might as well be for giving everyone the finger.

I don’t know anyone under the age of 60 that watches Jeopardy! for the question and answer format alone, as most people only care about this game show when something hilarious happens. Take for example the guy who gave the creepiest answer ever. Or how about the time Alex Trebek destroyed a contestant with one comment? Those are just a few memorable moments from this show. But we can add Viraj Mehta’s middle finger to the list.

Mehta was recently a contestant on Jeopardy! during the College Championship. Trebek asked Mehta a question about pizza, and the Stanford student started to describe a theorem in differential geometry that explains why folding a slice of pizza allows one to eat it more easily. Um, OK. But the real gem of all this was that Mehta was just flipping everyone off while explaining it.

Why do I get the feeling that Mehta was dared by his friends beforehand to do this? Or maybe I’m just naive and this dude just hates Trebek and the audience.
