Mom Buys GTA V For Her 11-Year-Old Son, Gets “Bag of Meth” Instead

Y’know that feel when you buy a copy of Grand Theft Auto V for your 11-year-old son, but then you discover that it was also bundled with a bag of meth? That’s reportedly what happened to a mom in Havana, Florida, who claims that upon purchasing the R-rated game from a GameStop store in Tallahassee, they also unwittingly picked up a class A drug.

Kayla McAllister claimed that she took her 11-year-old son GameStop to exchange some old games for new ones, but upon returning home the youngster found a little bag of meth tucked away in between the pages of GTA V‘s manual. Taking to Facebook to complain about the unfortunate accessory, Kayla wrote:

“Today i took my son to gamestop in Tallahassee to trade in games and get some new ones. When he opened the booklet inside one of the pre owned games he ( MY ELEVEN YEAR OLD SON!!!!!!!) found this. A baggie of fucking meth! Clearly the game was not properly checked when it was traded in and because of the carelessness i could have lost a child. Thankfully He brought it right to us and said what is this?”

In a police report obtained by Kotaku, police officers from the Gasden County Sheriff’s Office performed a field test on the substance, with it testing positive for methamphetamine. The report reads:

“Deputy Larry Smith … was dispatched to [redacted] to meet complainant (Kayla McAllister) in reference to possible narcotic found in a game case that was purchase from Game Stop in Tallahassee on 05-07-17. Upon arrival, Ms. McAllister handed over a Wells Fargo envelope with a small zip lock bag with white substance inside of it. At the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office the white substance was field tested by Deputy Dallas Richardson and witness by Deputy Kevin Faircloth with a return of purple and blue. These colors are positive for narcotic (Methamphetamine). The zip lock bag weight was 6 grams without packaging.”

According to Kayla, GameStop has since contacted her to offer her a replacement. She took to Facebook to complain about this gesture, writing: “So the district manager called me an offered me a f***ing replacement video game. Offered to send it in the mail so i wouldn’t have to go in the store. Um, no thank you I will not be using your company again.”

We have reached out to GameStop for comment and will update this story if we hear back from them.
