Exclusive Premiere | Ben Talmi Makes Some Orchestral Manoeuvres

Ben Talmi makes electronic alt-pop music you can actually feel. Like Ben Gibbard (Death Cab For Cutie) and James Mercer (The Shins), Talmi composes adult emo music that strikes a chord between melody and melancholy.

Crave is exclusively premiering Talmi’s debut full-length album, My Art of Almost (via Pledge Music).

Talmi’s sound is retro pop in a modern deconstructed kind of way. There’s orchestral samples intertwined with glitched-out analog synth sequences, as well as guitar strums and eloquent drums wth sing along anthems sprinkled on top.

My Art of Almost sounds like the Postal Service’s follow-up to their landmark Give Up that we never got.

Here’s what Talmi, former frontman of Art Decade, had to say about his new solo album, My Art Of Almost is an ode to my love affair with the creative process. A self-analysis of the psyche of a 20-something year old musician with a classical music complex and basset hound obsession living in Brooklyn.”
