Bono To Perform At Parliament Hill On Canada Day

Ottawa is abuzz with plans for their 150th birthday on Parliament Hill, and now they’ll be graced with a performance by one of the world’s biggest rockstars: Bono of U2 fame.

Organizers say that Bono will take to the stage to belt out one tune around noontime on July 1st. Almost half a million people are expected to show up at the festivities, which take place annually and are free.

Walk Off The Earth, Dean Brody, Serena Ryder, Alessia Cara, Ruth B and Gordon Lightfoot are all scheduled to perform throughout the day at either Parliament Hill or Major’s Hill Park. Additional live performances will take place at the Canadian Museum of History. Scheduling can be found here. The party gets started at 11:30am and will last until the fireworks at 11pm – it will consist of a 20-minute 17-second pyromusical show that is sure to be especially over-the-top this year as the country celebrates its 150th milestone – it’s promising to be the largest pyrotechnic show ever presented in the Capital region as part of the Canada Day celebrations.

Activities leading up to the Canada Day celebrations in the capital region will begin as early as June 30th.
