Gary Oldman Had A Rough Week, Is Kinda Dumb

You know the story: Gary Oldman doesn’t really like Jews, Nancy Pelosi, movies about slavery, and liberals. He also really doesn’t understand the concept of free speech. But yeah, here’s all the shit he said.

Alec calling someone an F-A-G in the street while he’s pissed off coming out of his building because they won’t leave him alone. I don’t blame him. So they persecute. Mel Gibson is in a town that’s run by Jews and he said the wrong thing because he’s actually bitten the hand that I guess has fed him–and doesn’t need to feed him anymore because he’s got enough dough. He’s like an outcast, a leper, you know? But some Jewish guy in his office somewhere hasn’t turned and said, “That fucking kraut” or “Fuck those Germans,” whatever it is? We all hide and try to be so politically correct. Bill Maher could call someone a fag and get away with it. He said to Seth MacFarlane this year, “I thought you were going to do the Oscars again. Instead they got a lesbian.” He can say something like that. Is that more or less offensive than Alec Baldwin saying to someone in the street, “You fag”? I don’t get it…..At the Oscars, if you didn’t vote for ’12 Years a Slave’ you were a racist. Well, if I called Nancy Pelosi a cunt and I’ll go one better, a fucking useless cunt I can’t really say that.”

Not to point on the obvious here, but didn’t he just say that? Someone let me know if this interview was conducted telepathically. Anyway, when you say dumb shit, you have to apologize.

In a letter to the Anti-Defamation League, Oldman said he was “deeply remorseful” for the comments about Mel Gibson, which the ADL said put forward anti-Semitic stereotypes. “I am deeply remorseful that comments I recently made in the Playboy Interview were offensive to many Jewish people,” Oldman said. “Upon reading my comments in print — I see how insensitive they may be, and how they may indeed contribute to the furtherance of a false stereotype. Anything that contributes to this stereotype is unacceptable, including my own words on the matter.

I mean, at least his Jewish publicist is well-spoken. Nice apology. Oldman also outed himself as a Libertarian, a political idealogy that collapses on itself if you look close enough, but it makes sense. He’s a old, rich white guy, but instead of being afraid of robots and TV remotes, he’s afraid that minorities will break into his house and steal everything he’s worked for. The only thing white people love more than being offended is being scared that their complexion protection will someday be taken away by an imagined socialist tyrant who instead of snatching guns, spends most of his time killing and capturing terrorists and providing healthcare to those who can’t afford it. Those are the two basic tenents of any police state btw. Killing terrorists and free healthcare. Look it up. Oh, and about the whole defending Mel Gibson thing. Yeah. Raging lunatic racists who beat women and have ovens that are a little bit too big in their house have been unfairly ostracized for far too long in Hollywood. Who is their voice? Who will speak for them? Gary Oldman. Because he lives in America and can do that in a Playboy interview. He seems to have missed that point.
