Hard to believe Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds haven’t taken flight in two years, considering it feels like just yesterday that The Man Who Built the Moon, the third offering from the former Oasis guitarist, came out in 2017.
But elder Gallagher is back, just ahead of brother Liam’s second solo album, with a new EP, the first of three this year with its album title single “Black Star Dancing.” With a bit of Bowie influence, mixed with his remix style we’ve seen on past albums, we’re getting a new Noel unlike any we’ve seen (and an even more unique video style).
The video is both a throwback in its era, stepping out of time before rock ‘n roll was an accepted lifestyle, but it also steps back to a time when music videos were thoughtfully curated. No more lyric videos, thank you. If you have five minutes to spare, it’s worth it for the experience, along with the infectious upbeat song that’ll get lodged in your brain.
Black Star Dancing is available for pre-order now, arriving officially on June 14.
