Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Get Married in Vegas 20 Years After 1st Engagement, Giving Us False Hope For ‘The One That Got Away’

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck tied the knot in Las Vegas over the weekend. The celebrity power couple, which originally got engaged in 2002, broke up two years later. They got back together, and got engaged again, in 2021.

Lopez announced the nuptials in her On the JLo newsletter on Sunday.

“We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient,” she wrote.

She also shared some details from the wedding, including the happy couple’s wardrobe. She wore “a dress from an old movie” and Affleck wore a white tuxedo. They had portraits taken in a pink Cadillac convertible “evidently once used by the King himself.”

She signed the newsletter Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck.

Lopez also shared a provocative pic from what appears to be a hotel bed on Instagram. She looks blissed out and beautiful.

You might notice she’s holding the phone with her left hand, which features a wedding band.

“#iykyk” she hashtagged the pic. (“If you know, you know,” for those who don’t know.)

The marriage officially blends Lopez and Affleck’s individual families together. In case you haven’t been keeping track, Lopez was formerly married to Marc Anthony, and they share twins Emme and Max. Affleck wed and divorced Jennifer Garner, with whom he shares kids Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel.

After Lopez’s engagement to pro baseball player Alex Rodriguez got called off in 2021, she got back together with Affleck.

“They were right when they said, ‘all you need is Love,’” Lopez wrote on Sunday. “We are so grateful to have that in abundance, a new wonderful family of five amazing children, and a life that we have never had more reason to look forward to. Stick around long enough and maybe you’ll find the best moment of your life in a drive through in Las Vegas at twelve thirty in the morning in the tunnel of love drive through, with your kids and the one you’ll spend forever with.”

Damn you, Bennifer. You’re making all of us holding out hope for The One That Got Away believe that relationship reunification dreams really do come true.
