Returning from an extended hibernation with a high-octane killer of a new album, Lex Hives, Swedish blast-rock quintet The Hives have come roaring back, tuxedo tophats and longtails flying. CraveOnline was on hand to catch the band’s recent stop to rock The Wiltern in Los Angeles as they tear through an international tour in support of their new record, obliterating audiences with high-energy shows that redefine the ritual of rock celebration. Naturally, we had to track the band down backstage for a little Q&A session.
Check out our exclusive interview below, where frontman Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist, guitarist Vigilante Carlstroem and drummer Chris Dangerous of The Hives discuss what keeps their fires burning after 20 years as a band, the challenge of following in the footsteps of AC/DC or David Bowie in terms of artistic longevity, the band’s work with Queens of The Stone Age’s Joshua Homme, the distance between artist and bands at music festivals and more!
Check back soon for part two of our interview with The Hives, where the band discusses hallucinating reindeer, their upcoming plans and more!
