Deathstroke Hunts Down ‘Arrow’

In the pilot episode of “Arrow,” the opening moments chronicled the rescue of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) from an isolated island. And long time DC fans caught a tantalizing glimpse of a mask that belongs to Deathstroke the Terminator, one of the iconic Teen Titans villains.

Initially Deathstroke’s mask seemed like an Easter egg for comic book fans. But IGN has revealed that Deathstroke will be coming to Starling City in the fifth episode of “Arrow,” just in time for the November sweeps. And given the arrow lodged in Deathstroke’s mask on the island, it stands to reason that he is looking for payback.

IGN also released the first photo of Deathstroke in costume, as portrayed by Jeffrey Robinson.

Robinson has previously acted in “Level 9” and “Stargate: Atlantis.” However, Robinson is best known for his extensive stunt work in “Nikita,” ”Smallville,” “Supernatural,” “Blade: The Series,” “Human Target,” “Bionic Woman,” Watchmen and Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Originally created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez in 1980, Deathstroke was the alter ego of Slade Wilson, a mercenary with enhanced abilities who became one of the most popular New Teen Titans villains. Deathstroke eventually earned his own ongoing comic book series in which Wilson was an antihero. But the character is more frequently used as an adversary to various superheroes and he is considered to be one of the top DC supervillains.
