City and Colour frontman Dallas Green confirmed on Wednesday that the band would be dropping into Australia in just a couple of weeks’ time to play two intimate shows before returning later in the year for a national tour.
Green announced via Twitter that the band would be play shows in Sydney and Melbourne on the 17th and 19th in support of their new album, The Hurry and The Harm, and also intends to make a second announcement of a full Australian tour when here on radio station Triple J.
Australian fans were anticipating an announcement of sorts after Green recorded an interview with Triple J last month, saying City and Colour had been overlooked by the Big Day Out for this summer’s festival, promising a 2013 headline tour instead.
The intimate Sydney and Melbourne shows will feature solo and acoustic performances from Green and the band, however due to the size of the venues chosen just two tickets will be available for each buyer.
Dallas Green last played in Australia in December in the form of two farewell shows with former band Alexisonfire.
City and Colour’s last album, Little Hell, achieved Gold status in Australia earlier this year while The Hurry And The Harm open at #4 on the Aussie charts after being released last Friday.
