Nintendo could be reviving the weirdly wonderful cult Dreamcast game Seaman.
Japanese blog Esuteru has spotted that Nintendo has bought the rights to the titles Mysterious Pet: Legend of the Fish With A Human Face and Mysterious Partner: Legend of the Fish With A Human Face. What else could these be if not names for a prospective Seaman sequel?
As noted by Eurogamer, Seaman creator Yoot Saito has worked with Nintendo since Seaman, creating the microphone-controlled pinball game Odama for the GameCube and Aero Porter for the 3DS.
It’s easy to imagine Seaman making its way to the 3DS, which already houses the popular virtual pet sim series Nintendogs. Granted, those virtual pets aren’t creepy human/fish hybrids voiced by Leonard Nimoy, but I’m sure there’s a market for this somewhere. Just look at YouTube celebrity PewDiePie’s video series of the game, which has amassed over 1 million views per video. Watch it below if you want to experience the game’s uninhibited oddness for yourself.
