Activision Confirms 6 Games For Wii U Including Call of Duty: Ghosts

Third party support on the Wii U has been shaky at best, but one major publisher has decided to see where riding the Wii U train will take it.

Activision has announced that it will support the Wii U for the back half of 2013 with six multiplatform titles. The games include the following:

  • Call of Duty: Ghosts
  • Skylanders SWAP Force
  • Angry Birds Trilogy
  • SponeBob SquarePants: Plankton’s Robotic Revenge
  • Wipeout Create & Crash

The biggest factor of the six is Call of Duty: Ghosts, which is one of the most important multiplatform games of the year. Last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was a launch title for the console but wasn’t successful commercially putting the future of Activision support in jeopardy. It appears it has decided to give it a second chance, though.

The other five games are smaller titles mostly aimed toward young people, the same demographic that Nintendo is struggling to target. Parents in particular are still confused about whether or not the Wii U is an add-on for the Wii. Maybe some proper marketing this holiday season will do the trick.
