Enjoy Final Fantasy? Why not share your hobby with others?
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn‘s Open Beta is now open to everyone. Technically speaking Phase 4 began yesterday, but it was exclusive for a 24-hour period to earlier beta participants. Now, you can connect online and see what the game is like on PC or PS3 no matter who you are.
If you want to hop on and enjoy the latest from Final Fantasy then head to the Beta Tester Registration Site and fill out the forms before beginning your download. I must warn you, the download is large, so get crackin’ if you want to begin playing in the short term future.
Characters won’t be wiped at the end of this beta phase, which is scheduled to end on Monday at 2:00AM PST. As such, you can treat it as a soft launch of sorts. Fill up your friends list and start looking for a Free Company so you’re ready to rock when it releases on August 27th (or August 24th if you have early access from pre-ordering).
As much as this is a “demo” to many people playing, Square Enix is using it for testing purposes. If servers go down or you encounter a glitch, don’t be too surprised.
I’ve been playing since yesterday (a screenshot of me playing is above) and have been thoroughly enjoying myself. I rolled an Arcanist on the Gilgamesh server and plan to hit the beta’s level cap of 20 sometime tomorrow. If you want to hop on and say hi, and maybe even run a dungeon with me, shoot me a message at ‘Jonny Bigboss’.
See you online!
