Neko Case has returned with a new album, and she’s offering it to the digital world two weeks before its September 3 arrival. Listen to The Worse Things Get, the Harder I Fight, the Harder I Fight, the More I Love You, via Anti-, below.
The album recorded with Darryl Neudorf (Sarah McLachlan, the Sadies) at Wavelab Studio in Tuscon, AZ, where the bulk of 2009’s Middle Cyclone was brought to life. Spanning from guitar-driven rockers to acoustic balladry and even an a capella stretch, Case’s intentions behind The Worse Things Get were to embrace polarities, to both strip and supplement her sound at varying points. By what we’re hearing, it sounds as if she’s accomplished her mission.
