Mumford and Sons Head Into Indefinite Hiatus on a High Note

After what seemed like an endless run, Mumford & Sons‘ Full English Tour came to an end in Bonner Springs, KS over the weekend, and the band have announced plans to go away for a long period of time.

As keyboardist Ben Lovett told Rolling Stone earlier this week, “There won’t be any Mumford & Sons activities for the foreseeable future following Friday’s show.” He continued, saying “we’re going to take a considerable amount of time off and just go back to hanging out and having no commitments or pressure or anything like that. It feels like the last week of school right now, before school holiday when you’re in high school. The atmosphere on the road is one of… I think everyone’s excited about being free of schedules.”

The band have shown no sign of strain, and no cause for controversy behind the hiatus. By all accounts, even with bassist Ted Dwane’s health scare, The Full English tour was a massive success. New covers, a slew of guest spots and festival appearances took place in the run-up to the band’s first real downtime since 2009’s Sigh No More

Check out the band’s latest video for “Hopeless Wanderer,” in which none of them appear, replaced by comedy heroes Will Forte, Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Ed Helms:
