Australian alt rock band Spiderbait are back with a new single and an upcoming album.
The single, ‘It’s Beautiful’, features the band members memorialised as puppets, wandering through the back streets and laneways of Melbourne, photographing quirky objects beauty and the city’s graffiti scene.
“It ended up being a pretty sentimental love fest about Melbourne,” said bassist and vocalist Janet English. “Melbourne was the city we started playing punk music in, it embraced us, so it’s a very special place to all of us in the band. It’s a great place to be an artist or musician.”
“It’s Beautiful’ is the second single from the upcoming self-titled Spiderbait album, following on from ‘Straight Through The Sun’. The Finley three-piece haven’t been heard from since 2004’s Tonight Alright, Spiderbait, but will finally drop the new album on November 15 through Universal. The album was produced by Francois Tetaz (Gotye & Bertie Blackman) and drummer/vocalist Kram.
