Dive Inside the PS4’s Hardware in this New Video

Wired has taken apart the PS4 to reveal the system’s meticulously crafted hardware. They go as far as to take the motherboard out of the system and show off the components responsible for providing 1080p/60fps gameplay this holiday season.

The PS4 runs on x86 architecture with an AMD 8-core “Jaguar” CPU and integrated GPU capable of 1.84 teraflops of theoretical throughput. It also uses a unified memory system with 8GB of GDDR5, the most pricey of its kind on the market today. The first PS4 SKU comes with a 500GB hard drive, which is replaceable by non-proprietary units, as well as all the other doodads you’ve come to expect like a Blu-ray drive, Wifi receiver, and more.
