The Order: 1886 Won’t Be Shown at VGX, Potentially Delayed to 2015

The Order: 1886 is an important game for the PS4, not only because it’s being developed by a talented studio (Ready at Dawn), but because it’s scheduled for a release during the PS4’s first year where the game selection is limited. Or is it?

After being asked if The Order: 1886 will be in attendance at this year’s VGX, Geoff Keighley replied:

We were hoping to show you The Order but the footage isn’t ready.

Footage not being shown at VGX is one thing, but little to nothing has been shown since the game’s debut at E3 2013. Given the ambition of the game, and the difficulties of producing AAA titles on next-gen hardware, it’s possible that a delay is in the books.

The Order: 1886 is an action-adventure title with a setting rooted in Victorian-era London with roots in mythology. Many expect it to be the first great exclusive of the PS4.

Sony has lost a big title for its VGX line-up. Meanwhile, Microsoft has several games ready to show. Quantum Break gameplay will be shown for its first time, as will at least one new exclusive game announcement. Titanfall will also be featured. Halo 5 is even rumored to have a spot in the show. We’ll find out soon enough what this all means since VGX is tomorrow.
