A rumour is doing the rounds that Minecraft may be set to launch on the Wii U in 2014.
Previously, Mojang’s lead designer of Pocket Minecraft Jens Bergensten had stated that a Wii U version of the crazily popular sandbox game was “very unlikely”, but according to NintendoEnthusiast.com, a “retail source” has claimed that Mojang are in possession of Wii U dev kits, and are looking to bring a version of Minecraft to Nintendo’s console that is focused on the touchscreen GamePad.
Mojang are currently working on both the PS4 and Xbox One version of the game, but according to this retail source Nintendo keenly pursued a deal with the developer in order to bring Minecraft to its struggling console, a deal which Mojang eventually agreed upon.
