After a multitude of problems across all Nintendo platforms, the company has today confirmed that the Nintendo Network and its services, including the Nintendo eShop and Miiverse, are now fully functional.
The company broke the good news today with the following tweet:
We do not anticipate any further outages, but will continue to closely monitor the situation.

Nintendo then tweeted that they thanked fans for their “patience and support”, saying: “We sincerely apologize for this week’s inconsistencies.”
The problems with the Nintendo Network began during the Christmas period, with the PS4, Xbox One and Steam also suffering with similar issues. However, whereas Sony, Microsoft and Valve managed to get their platforms back up and running, Nintendo continued to struggle with the online components of its systems, as detailed here. Hopefully this is truly the last we’ll hear of this issue, and new Wii U/3DS owners can go back to enjoying their games.
