Watch: Foster The People Preview New Track On NYE

Foster The People received a ton of radio play for the hit single ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ in 2011 and a long-awaited sophomore release is finally just around the corner.

The band posted a 40 second sample of new single ‘Coming Of Age’ on YouTube on New Year’s Eve, with the video description reading “We’re Back. Here’s a glimpse of 2014”.

‘Coming Of Age’ originally made its debut in June when Foster The People gave fans in Delaware a taste of the upcoming second LP by playing a bunch of new singles (including “Level Up”, “Surfing” and “Fire Escape”) at Firefly Music Festival.

While the upcoming album was supposed to launch in November, it is now expected this month, but don’t expect the same sound from the Californian trio.

“I went into it (the new album) wanting to do something more organic and human, because the first record was so electronic and synthetic,” frontman Mark Foster told Rolling Stone last year.

“It’s not the record that people are gonna expect us to release second. It’s definitely an evolution for us, and it’s a more polarizing record for us, so I’m excited to see how it’s received, for better or worse.”
