Anderson Silva’s New Hobby Is Shooting People

Paparazzi may be an annoyance to celebrities and sports stars alike but they do somehow get them to talk. TMZ, the premier place for all things celebrity these days, caught up to former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva as he was leaving the Fogo De Chao steakhouse in L.A. the other night and got the injured star to open up about what he’s doing to keep busy while sidelined with the broken leg.

Silva, who appeared in as good of spirits as you can be while swinging around on crutches, told TMZ sports that he has developed an obsession with video games during his down time, most notably the mega popular “Call of Duty”. This admission should come as little surprise to those who are familiar with Silva’s octagon work as he was practically killing people in there until his recent back to back losses to Chris Weidman.

Only don’t call the most recent fight — the one where Silva broke his leg — a loss to the former champ.

In a recent interview Silva stated he is confident that he will be able to fight again and when he does, he won’t enter the octagon with the feeling of coming off back-to-back losses.

“I believe that, if you pay attention to these technical details, you will see that (checking the kick) was instinct, not something that he trained to do,” Silva said during an interview to Globo.

“No, I don’t think (Weidman should consider it a win). It was an accident. And I’m pretty sure I would have won the fight.”

While doing the interview, Silva watched the fight again and admitted that he made some technical mistakes before throwing the leg kick.

“I can see some technical mistakes I did in the fight,” he said. “To land the perfect kick, I needed to distract him by punching him in the face so he wouldn’t pay attention to the kick. He was protecting the upper part of his body, and the raised leg instinctively. The kick was so strong he lost balance.”

Whatever mistakes Silva did make he will have plenty of time to dwell on as his road back to fighting will be long and full of hard work. Until then, keep an eye out for Silva racking up some major body counts as he keeps his competitive fires burning while playing some “Duty”
