Chances are you’re anxiously awaiting March. Why wouldn’t you? It’s going to be one of the most jam-packed months for gamers in a while.
However, you can make the seemingly long wait a lot easier. You might not know it yet, but February 2014 is a great month for gaming. There are releases planned that cover everything from classic JRPG to horror and even stealth. Whether you’re into last-gen or current-gen consoles, or maybe even handhelds, there’s something good for you to play.
So what are these great games that I’m talking about? See below to find out.

Outlast scared the bejesus out of PC gamers during September of last year. Now, it looks to bring that terror to the homes of PS4 owners.

January 7th - Bravely Default
Square Enix has put together one of the most thoughtfully devised JRPGs in years in the form of Bravely Default . Our very own Joey Davidson found himself glued to his 3DS when reviewing the title . What better way to kill some time during these slow gaming months than with a content-packed JRPG that is drenched with oldschool Final Fantasy influence.
Bravely Default platform(s): 3DS
February 11th - Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII
Nobody asked for two follow-ups to 2010's Final Fantasy XIII , but Square Enix did it anyway. Nonetheless, Lightning Returns looks to address concerns brought up from the past two releases. In other words, it might actually turn out to be a fantastic RPG.
Toukiden: The Age of Demons and One Piece: Romance Dawn will debut on the same day.

February 18th - Rayman Legends
Rayman Legends was one of the best games of 2013. To make sure everyone gets a chance to play it, Ubisoft has put together versions for the PS4 and Xbox One. For the most part it will be the same game, although with uncompressed textures and quicker loading times. Truthfully, that's a good thing.
Earth Defense Force 2025 will be bringing its Japanese-style shooting mechanics stateside on the same day.

Earth Defense Force 2025 platform(s): PS3, Xbox 360
February 21st - Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze platform(s): Wii U
February 25th - Thief, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2
Now for the biggest releases of February.
Thief has been anticipated for a long time. The franchise is known for being one of the best in the stealth genre. Thief will modernize its gameplay mechanics and throw in beautiful next-gen visuals for good measure. If you enjoy hiding in the shadows and avoiding conflict rather than creating it, then Thief is for you.
If you prefer to be more of a brute force, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is ready for release on February 25th. Its predecessor was close to greatness, and Lords of Shadow 2 is eager to show how it has improved upon the formula.
Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare and Tales of Symphonia Chronicles similarly have a Feburary 25th release.

February 28th - Resident Evil 4: Ultimate HD Edition
Resident Evil 4 earned widespread acclaim and numerous game of the year awards back in 2005. Now, it looks to show PC gamers why.
Resident Evil 4: Ultimate HD Edition is the best version yet with HD graphics and all the benefits of Steam software (achievements, cloud saves, trading cards, etc.). If you've never played Resident Evil 4 , this is an easy recommendation and a great way to end February.
