Titanfall’s Xbox 360 Version Delayed Two Weeks

Ready to lock and load with some Titanfall on March 11th? Well, if plan on playing the Xbox 360 version, then it’s going to be a little while longer.

Respawn Entertainment’s EVP Patrick Soderlund had some bad news to share with gamers who haven’t made the jump from Xbox 360 to Xbox One. He posted:

In these last few weeks before launch, Respawn is in the final stages of polishing the Xbox One and PC versions of the game. Bluepoint is doing the same with the Xbox 360 version. To give them the time they need to put the finishing touches on the current-gen version of the game, we are moving the Xbox 360 ship date to March 25 in North America and March 28 in Europe. The extra two weeks will ensure the full world of Xbox gamers has an awesome experience.

As stated in the quote, the PC and Xbox One version are not affected by this delay. They are still on schedule for a March 11th arrival.

Gamers around the web are already taking aim at Microsoft, accusing it of forcing the delay in an effort to incentivize Xbox 360 owners to purchase an Xbox One. I can’t imagine that being the case. There are hundreds of people working on Titanfall, with several being involved with the delay in one way or another. If any one of them were aware of a forced delay, all it would take is one public comment to tear down every last bit of positive PR Microsoft has amounted during the past rocky year.

The Xbox 360 version of Titanfall hasn’t been shown at all since the game’s announcement. Many are wondering how it will fare versus the Xbox One version. The truth is, we probably won’t know what the Xbox 360 version looks like until its release date, which is now March 25th. If you’re afraid of parity making the two Xbox versions closer than you’d be comfortable with, there’s always the PC version.
