Bruce Springsteen gave Australian fans a unique experience on Saturday night during his hugely popular visit Down Under, performing his first ever live cover of ACDC’s ‘Highway To Hell’.
Playing his third sold-out show in Perth, Western Australia, Springsteen honoured the late Bon Scott in his hometown with a cover of the AC/DC classic.
Scott grew up in nearby Fremantle and ‘Highway To Hell’ was the lead track and the album title of ACDC’s last recorded album featuring Scott before his passing at age 33.
Springsteen’s Wrecking Ball Tour, parading around Australia and New Zealand as part of a 12-stop extended visit, has provided fans a number of special covers and premiers in sets lasting more than three hours, including ‘Just Like Fire Would’ from another Aussie band The Saints.
Tom Morello, one of the guitarists in Springsteen’s E Street band, was pretty stoked to be part of the one-off experience.

The Rage Against The Machine guitarist also visited Scott’s grave earlier in the week.
The Bruce Springsteen tour continues next week in Adelaide for two shows before hitting Melbourne, Sydney, the Hunter Valley, Brisbane and finally New Zealand.
