Microsoft Pushes Digital Distribution on Xbox One, Ryse Now $39.99

Are you looking for some deals on Xbox One games? You might in luck because Microsoft is looking to give you what you’re looking for with one caveat: digital distribution only.

Starting February 18th, Ryse: Son of Rome will be available through the Microsoft Store for $39.99. The announcement was made on Twitter by Microsoft Studio Manager Mike Ybarra.

This is being deemed an “experiment” by Microsoft to see how consumers respond. If sales figures show interest, it’s very likely that other first-party games will follow, games such as Forza 5 and Dead Rising 3.

It’s been rumored that a digital-only Xbox One will be brought to retail to both push Microsoft’s first-hand sales in addition to offering a more affordable Xbox One SKU.
