The Witcher 3 Delayed to 2015 for All Platforms

Let’s face it, we’ve sort of gotten used to games being delayed. It’s an unfortunate consequence of how complicated making a game is in this day and age. Watch Dogs and Driveclub were the last customers of bad news. Now, The Witcher 3 joins the fray.

CD Projekt Red has issued the following statement regarding The Witcher 3‘s delay:

Dear gamers – we know many of you would have liked to play The Witcher 3 sooner, as soon as possible, even. We’re sorry to make you wait longer than you, or we, initially assumed you would. At the same time, we believe the game will prove to be worth the wait and meet the expectations you have of us. We believe The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be an exceptional RPG, one of the best, providing many hours of wonderful entertainment.

The Witcher 3 was previously one of the most universally hyped games of the year, securing a spot in our Top 10 Games to Look Forward to in 2014 list. Now that it’s destined for a 2015 release, it’ll have to compete with the likes of Halo 5 and Uncharted 4.

On the plus side, more development time means the game will be more polished package once it hits store shelves.
