Arcade Fire’s video for “Afterlife,” directed by Emily Kai Bock, has won the Prism Award – as part of the honour, the director will take home the $5000 cash prize.
The award was handed out yesterday in Toronto.
“Emily made some truly remarkable videos last year,” said Prism Prize Founder and Director Louis Calabro in an official press release. “It says something that two of Emily’s pieces were on the Top Ten Shortlist. Ultimately, I think our jurors chose Afterlife because it’s thoughtful and well-paced, and because – frankly – it looks beautiful.
Plans for the third annual Prism Prize will be announced later this year.
