Apparently Noel Gallagher saying that there’s more chance of him and his ex-wife getting back together than Oasis reforming hasn’t quite sunk in for some Oasis fans, as rumours persist that the band will reunite in order to play a headline set at Glastonbury 2014. If Noel’s comments weren’t enough, now organiser Emily Eavis has responded to the speculation, confirming that Oasis will not be playing at Worthy Farm this year.
Responding to a fan on Twitter who asked if Oasis were performing ahead of the festival’s ticket resale last weekend, organiser Emily Eavis said: “oasis aren’t playing this year.” So there you have it, Oasis fans: conclusive proof that the Gallagher’s will not be filling a headline slot this year.
The speculation began when Liam Gallagher posted a series of cryptic tweets, including “OASIS LG”, that immediately had Oasis fans eyeing up their Parkas in anticipation. Unfortunately for them the reunion wasn’t to be, and now all they’ll have to listen to is Beady Eye’s mundane pub rock to tide them over until the “OASIS WILL BE PLAYING AT GLASTONBURY 2015” rumours start.
