Bethesda Announces Battlecry, a 32-Player Multiplayer Shooter

BattleCry Studios, a company formed in 2012, is working on its first project: Battlecry. The game's goal is "to create fun, high-quality online experiences for a connected world". This world will allow for up to 32 players to duke it out in colorful environments with medieval weapons.

Speaking of the world, it has been crafted by none other than the esteemed Viktor Antonov, a man who imagined Half-Life 2 and Dishonored. It's set in a fictional early 1900s where gun powder is illegal, so barbaric weapons like swords and maces are summoned to battle. Players will destroy each other and progress through ranks, earning new abilities and effects in the process.

Battlecry is a free to play PC game with a beta expected to arrive later this year. You can check it out in action via the video above.
