Earlier this year, Anthony and Joe Russo found time to revisit “Community” while working on the post production of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. And although the duo have already signed on to helm Captain America 3 and a few episodes of Marvel’s “Agent Carter,” the Russos are heading back to Greendale for at least one more visit.
While speaking with IGN, the Anthony Russo said We will be returning. We’re going to do the first episode [of Season 6] for those guys. We’re going to have a little fun with that episode. Dan Harmon and Chris McKenna are cooking up something very cool for us…”
Russo added that ”The quality is always so high for the scripts on that show, so it’s very exciting to tear into one of those scripts as a director.”

The Russo brothers have previously directed the feature films You, Me and Dupree and Welcome to Collinwood. But the duo are perhaps best known for their TV directing work including “Arrested Development,” “Happy Endings,” “What About Brian,” “LAX” and several memorable episodes of “Community.”
Yahoo Screen hasn’t currently announced a premiere date for “Community” Season 6, but it has been announced that the 13 episode season will be released weekly as opposed to the Netflix model of dropping every episode at once.
