It only took a few weeks after Tim Tebow’s television debut for him to skyrocket to a network’s top rated show.
After just a hand full of appearances on the SEC Network this month, ABC put out a press release Thursday announcing the Heisman Trophy winner will be joining Good Morning America. He will join his newest team on Monday where his role will include both studio and location shots along with launching GMA’s “Motivate Me Monday” series.
GMA has had great success using sports personalities. While Robin Roberts has been a long time host, Tebow appears to be filling the void left by former ESPN anchor Josh Elliott, who was on GMA for nearly three years before signing a contract with NBC Sports earlier this year.
Sure, it might take time for Tebow to be 100 percent sharp on live television, but this is a power move by GMA, knowing that he’s the most amiable and seemingly honest talent available.
I mean come on, every mother in the country is in love with him. Heck, I”M in love with him (how can you not after this). Find me any woman over the age of 25 that doesn’t like Tim Tebow (outside Alabama or Georgia fans). I would like to talk to them… Who watches GMA? Your mom. My mom. Every mom. Ever. It’s obvious this hire is right up GMA’s demographic.
Smart hire. And the best news is that the only interceptions Tebow will be part of will be through an IFB.
GMA and SEC Network are both within the ABC Family.
